Las Campanas Resolves Water Issues

October 29, 2009

For almost 2 decades, the issue of how will water be supplied to Las Campanas has finally been resolved.  Santa Fe County Commissioners voted unanimously to allow all of Las Campanas   (except Estates I and II which are already serviced by the City of Santa Fe) to become a customer of Santa Fe County. My speculation is that with declining growth from the economic slowdown the money the County will receive from this agreement is good news to their ears. Previously Las Campanas was going to build their own water treatment plant and be in complete control of it’s destiny, but with the financial crunch the most recent move not only secures water for the community,  but it weaves itself more in to the fabric of surrounding Santa Fe – which is a good thing.
