Las Campanas
Las Campanas is the only gated golf course community not only in Santa Fe, but in all of New Mexico. Conceived by Lyle Anderson in the late 1980’s as an adjunct to his successful golf course community empire (Including Desert Highlands, Desert Mountain, Superstition Mountain, Hokuli’a and Loch Lomond), Las Campanas is home to 2 Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, a World Class Equestrian Center, a Spa and Fitness Center, miles of walking paths, and an award winning Hacienda Clubhouse.
The land itself is comprised of 1717 home sites on over 4700 acres on the Northwest edge of Santa Fe. It is about a 15 to 25 minute drive to downtown Santa Fe, depending on where in Las Campanas you are. Las Campanas is generally divided up into various areas termed “Estates”, with the lower number Estates being closer to town, and the larger number ones being on the western edge. So Estate I and II are on the eastern most part of Las Campanas, whereas Estates VII and VIII are further west.
Styles of homes include Pueblo, Territorial, and Contemporary. Most homes are a minimum of 2500 square feet, and are generally on one level. Views in Las Campanas are to the east facing the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, to the west to the Jemez Mountains, and to the south off to the Ortiz and Sandia Mountains. Average price of these Santa Fe homes is $1.2 to $1.3 million dollars, and the range of homes starting in the $500’s and going all the way to $10 million.
